Whew....calming down!

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

Yesterday, I did manage to take a good walk and eat in a moderate way. It was good to have access to healthy food again and the support of my daughter. This morning when I stepped on the scale, I was back down to my pre-Australia weight of 144.8. I knew that yesterday's high weight was a combination of jet lag and salt/water retention so I didn't freak out but it was still nice to see those old familiar maintenance numbers coming up on the scale again.

I might try to put in a couple of indoor miles with Leslie this morning. My knee is hurting a bit (probably because yesterday's walk was up and down the Berkeley hills) so I want to take it easy on it today. This afternoon, I am going to my daughter, Sarah's, appointment with her midwife at the birthing center. Since I will be there when she delivers in November, it will be nice to meet the midwives and see the setup. Sarah has grown so much over the past month and she is such a little bit of a thing that it seems like we will be holding our little Bumblebee in no time!

Thanks for the encouraging words from Spark friends yesterday....I appreciate the support!

I knew you could do it! Isn't it strange how salt/water retention can change the numbers on the scale? I too, was down a pound this morning from yesterday - even though I have been getting my 9 glasses of water in every day, apparently my body finally decided to rid itself of the extra water.
My daughter had a midwife her first pregnancy, and I was able to meet her prior to the birth also. She had a home birth, and how I wished there would have been a birthing center close by. How exciting for all of you. I will be praying that everything goes great for your daughter, and that she will have a quick delivery.
