Two buffets down, and one to go.

The results of my attempt at mindful eating at Buffets 1 and 2? Success! In addition to my planned salads, challah, and olive dip, I ate a small piece of chocolate cake at buffet number one, but at buffet number two, I successfully avoided carrot cake, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, mint Newman O's, and chunky chocolate choc chip cookies! I told myself I could have one of each flavor potato chip (okay, so that turned into two or three of each), and a whole serving of my favorite Everything pretzel chips with artichoke & spinach hummus.

I grabbed fresh raspberries and blueberries when I was feeling tempted, and stayed engaged in long conversations with people so I wouldn't keep thinking about the food.

I forgot to mention that the second event was really just a bunch of snacky foods, so I ate dinner at home beforehand which helped me not be ravenous at the party.


Wish me luck on the third and final buffet of the weekend this evening! The plan is to skip the sweets entirely this time since I don't want to overdo it on the sugar.
