I have been watching the advertisements for the Bowflex treadclimber and I have wanted one for years! It is so expensive though and I would love to try it out first. Any sparkers out there have one? If so, how do you like it? Is it as easy on your joints as they say? Is the motion easy to get used to even if you are very tall with long limbs?
I am impressed with the calorie burn! over 500 calories in just 30 minutes? Incredible! I want that! I have been working out for over an hour to get that kind of burn. Can you tell I really, really, really want this? I just have to put it on the backburner for now.
I have bought plenty of workout equipment in the past and used it for a while but then tired of it or lost interest. I don't want to spend 3K on another piece of equipment that collects dust or gets used as a clothes rack.
I visited a "Play it again sports" store and they had one treadclimber. I asked if I could test it out and they plugged it in and got me started. The price tag on this used one was $1299. First thing I noticed was that it is almost exactly like walking on a treadmill. The next thing I noticed was that the pedals weren't moving up and down - the associate had to go get help to figure out how to unlock them. Then the up and down motion was minimal unless you really stomped on the pedal in the right spot. Needless to say, I will not be wasting my money on this. It was nice to be able to test it out first. I will just stick to my current program.

I always like to try stuff ffirst before I buy too. Too much false advertising out there!

I'm glad you got to try it out first. I seemed to do best with two sets of free weights and walk/running around my block. Keep going strong!

Is it possible Play It Again Sports has it? I guess I haven't seen the infomercials, so I don't know how new the piece of equipment is. I know I always enjoy that cycling and the elliptical burns more than walking.

those infomercials look so easy and everything looks and works so good.
I would like a treadclimber too, but I still have my treadmill and it keeps "carrying" me away!

I, too, am intrigued by the commercial. I'd post a question in the exercise threads and see if you get any response from someone on SparkPeople. Then, please report back so we know.

3k is a lot of $$ but I too have seen the infomercial for the machine and the number of calories burned is impressive. Hope to see you can get it soon.
