MOTIVATION & RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
Saturday, August 24, 2013
it is a lovely fall like Sat. morning and i was out in my yard about 6;15 a.m. with the pugs. they love a good run about first thing. i sipped my coffee and my elderly neighbor opened her screen door. i wasn't sure if it was too early to greet her - (some people need more time) but i said 'good morning' anyway.
she waived me over and i got up and went. she said 'i have admired your lovely veggie garden. i miss all that since i cannot move like i used too'. i told her how much i can relate to the bending and stooping - then not being able to straighten up. i told her if there was anything she might like to let me know - there is always more that falls to the ground then we can eat. she smiled and said how lovely it would be to have a fresh tomato.
so i filled a freshly lined basket with some green/red/yellow veggies and brought it over. we chatted at the door and the mention of me trying to get back on track and taking walks happen to come up.
turns out she would love to have some one to walk with, she would never venture out on her own. so we are now 'walking partners' .
so i have a motivational reason to get back out there and walk - a new buddy to share some time with and a friend who can eat some of the surplus in my garden. of course the bunnies, chipmunks and squirrels with still have their shares.
myself - a get a big kick out of random acts of kindness - they ALWAYS lead to something good, or fun, or heart warming. you can never ever make a bad choice. it is a GOOD THING.
so have a great weekend - do some little thing - you will be the biggest winner of all. hugs BB
