School Started

Thursday, August 22, 2013

The kids are back in school and we are getting into a good routine. I LOVE that I am awake with them all in the morning and that I'm home soon after they get home. My new schedule and job location are fantastic for my family. It was definitely worth the two year wait to get more hours out here. Since I'm home after school, I can sign all the papers that need signed and deal with all the after school stuff that hubby just doesn't understand. Picture day was today. The kids just started back on Tuesday. I'm glad to get it over with. I was able to handle all the forms and checks last night, and double check all the kids' outfits, so it should go as well as possible for a family with six kids.

Work is going great. We're all pretty new at working out here, but we're solving problems together and haven't had to text our boss while she is on maternity leave. That is my main goal. I want to leave her alone while she is with her first born. We have lots of changes going on, but we're dealing with them. The end of the month we change wholesalers, so next week we get set up for ordering from a different company. We have a Pyxis unit in the pharmacy we are also setting up sometime soon. We just made it through our first Skills day, an annual training day for staff where we have to refresh the nurses on proper IV room technique and other pharmacy related things. We've been dealing with product shortages and finding alternatives and also working on planning out our changes for the IV room. Here you have to be involved in so much. We are the inventory control people, the ordering people, the "everything that has to do with pharmacy" people. I'm very proud of how we (me, the prn pharmacist, and the two main technicians) have worked together to solve some of these issues.

I've started another round of HCG. I'm seven pounds down. It waivers from day to day, but overall is going in the right direction. I feel good and have been trying to get in some more walks. I've done three so far this week.

That's my update for now. Have a great weekend!

I love when the routines make life easier! I also love when picture day is early in the year so it's done and over with! It's easier when they are older!

My kids have been back to school for two weeks now and I've been back in the classroom for 3. I miss the laid back summertime, though. The house seems quieter without the oldest, but we are adjusting. I guess I'd better since I can't do anything about it. emoticon She's enjoying college and we get to watch her play in her first college soccer game tomorrow.

I'm so glad that work is going well and fits into your life well. I do like being home shortly after the kids. I go in early so I can get home as soon as I can.

Keep up the great exercise routine, too. Have a great weekend.
