Last Day as a 26 Year-Old

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

Tomorrow is my 27th birthday. I know a lot of women are afraid to announce their ages, but to be honest, I'm really happy because a lot of people for some reason seem to think that I'm 20 years old or so.
I have been working full time since July 15th. I plan on making September 13th my last day there. I don't mind cleaning rooms, and my boss has been awesome, but I just don't think with my workload at school that I will be able to accommodate a job on top of it-even if it's only part-time. I've definitely got a lot of thinking to do about where I want to apply for graduate school, but first and foremost, I have to get a good score on the LSAT. I'd love to have a law degree and work dependency cases for the department of human services. Ideally, I'd like to get accepted the first year after I earn my BA, but we'll see what happens. Life never seems to go the way you plan it-often, it's actually BETTER, so here's hoping. I've been studying for the test, but it's so confusing! I'm sure I will do fine though as long as I continue to study.

My boss let me go home early from work today and she even gave me the day off tomorrow because it's my birthday. I'll also have next Thursday off because it will be Adam's birthday. I love that we're a week apart-same year! It's pretty cool. Also, on September 2nd, we will be celebrating our 6-year anniversary! My how time flies and oh my goodness how we've grown together! When I met him, I thought I was "done" with school, and he hadn't even started going back yet. Now we're entering our senior year, and looking at graduate school possibilities-law school possibilities!

Diet and exercise wise....not so good. Good news is that I'm the same weight that I was last year at this time. I plan on going back full swing when I get back to school. I guess the vacation bug just got me and I have been feeling lazy. Plus with working full-time has left me tired often, but the good news is that the work is physically demanding, so I at least get some exercise. I've also been riding my bike to work. We've been staying with my parents' house because while I can pay the bills and afford my car, I just don't see the sense in driving about 16 miles to and from work for a minimum wage job. Plus, as long as my parents don't mind, it's fine.

I will say that I have big plans for this school year. I have to complete my project, and start applying and thinking about the future. It's so exciting and scary.
I am excited to see where this next year will take me.

Happy birthday to me! I will give myself an early morning jog for my birthday. I want to always associate celebration with some kind of exercise. We're also going to the coast, so that will be fun.

Happy, happy birthday!! I just celebrated my 27th birthday last month - like you, a lot of people think I'm in my early 20's & are always surprised when I tell them my age. :) I also finished up my last year of undergrad last fall, so I know the excitement and amount of work that is to be done! It's always so exciting to see the end of the road and to make plans for the future. Good luck with your studies, the LSAT, & figuring out your dreams!
