That is very sad. We just had relatives with a six year old autistic son visiting for a week. He can be very loving but very stressful, this is so very over the top and cruel.

If you wanted to reach out to the family, you could probably do so through the news media. You could also find them on Facebook.

I hope they find the "person" who wrote the letter. The letter writer should be grateful for her normal children! I think the family should prosecute, if possible. A lot of people are very callous and self centered now days.

Oh my word!!! That is absolutely heart-breaking :( I can't imagine anyone being that ignorant or cruel to a living, breathing human. I hope that neighbor gets outed & shunned by their community!

I saw this on the news, too. Horrible. How can someone write this? How can they even think it?

I saw this story on the news tonight. I have a son with special needs and am sad and offended by the person who sent this letter. What is wrong with people?
Like Ever-Hopeful mentioned above, I wonder if there is any way that we can find out how to write to the family who received this horrible letter. It would be wonderful if we could let them know how many people care.

Dee it must be a hoax! No one can be so callous. I just find it hard to think that an adult wrote this. could it be a vengeful teenager? I don't know but the whole sordid thing stinks to heaven.

There will always be hatred in our world that is sad to say. I also have an autistic daughter and saw this on facebook. The person who wrote it has soo much hatred in her heart you almost feel sorry for her. She is no better than hitler or the klan who hates any one not in their eyes as perfect. I have always considered my daughter a gift from god, she can be difficult at times but I see life in a more wondrous way through her eyes. She must have been deprived of love, caring and acceptance to be the sad individual she is today.
