Start of my 3rd week

Sunday, August 18, 2013

Today is the start of my third week on SparkPeople. I am very happy because I have already seen results. My weight goes up and down throughout the day, but I am pretty sure I have lost 2 pounds. Even though my weight progress is not doing much, I am a lot more toned. I have a lot more strength than when I started and I can fit into my skinny jeans better! My skinny jeans were SO tight and I could barely move in them and now they are like perfect. I can squat in these skinny jeans now.

I think the reason that SparkPeople works so well for me and for many others is because I can talk about my problems and I get the motivation to do something good. With school starting in a couple days for me, I am hoping that I can still make good choices and keep exercising. School food is not healthy and I wish it really was! Last year, I remember wanting all the unhealthy food because it tasted "descent" and now I just wish the cooks would actually cook the food and make it homemade instead of all this frozen junk. It would be great if they put out some fresh fruit because I am pretty sure that people would eat some!

Does anyone know someone that is in charge of the school foods? They should do EVERYTHING fresh. They wonder why kids don't like certain things...it is because they are SO used to the gunk they put out..

that is SO AWESOME that your jeans are loose enough to squat in now. nice job! i wish you the best of luck in finding healthyish choices at school!

i agree and WISH the schools used more fresh fruits and vegetables. a lot of schools have found great success by growing their own and using gardening and food prep as a part of the curriculum... unfortunately, the real problem is that public school lunches are a government program that is only subsidized at a certain level... they have to keep the per-serving cost down both for free lunch kids and for those paying! i am not saying it's impossible to do it better, but it's certainly easier to meet budget by using the cheap processed crap made from cheap ingredients that are already subsidized by the government so people don't know how much they really cost...

    *SIGH*

maybe you can study food policy in college and change the world!!! :)
