Thought and Prayer for Friday, August 16, 2013

When it comes to trusting God, we need to practice the three P’s. We need to be patient, prepared and proactive. God’s timing is not our own so there will be times when we need to wait. There will be situations that seem to drag out. There will be times when we think we are ready but God knows we are not. While we are waiting we should get prepared by reading His word and talking to Him. And we should be proactive in doing good things for others that will glorify Him. Trusting God is passive. It is a practice we should put into place every day.

2 Peter 3:14 “And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know we need to wait on You. We know only You hold the reasons for why we have to wait for things to happen. We know as we wait we should continue to live for You. We don’t have to know the reasons. We simply need to trust in You and in your perfect timing. Thank You for Your mighty power and superior wisdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Trusting God is about waiting on His answer before rushing out on our own.

When we trust in God we need to be sure we are waiting for His perfect answer.

There is no reason to rush into something when God tells us to wait.

When we wait for God’s answer great things will come that we could have never done on our own.

When we patiently wait on God’s help, we will be blessed.

Isaiah 30:18b “For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.” (NLT)
