Went kayaking for 3 hours this morning. Also practiced being the rescuer in a capsize at the end of our paddle. My niece, Tigan, had never done rescue training, so we had her flip her boat, then I performed the assisted rescue before she flipped it again and did the self rescue. After this week is over I should be able to get into a normal routine again. I thought I would this week, but it has been busy, and it isn't over yet.

I didn't run today, and I won't run tomorrow as it is the day before the race.

    I didn't even think of rescue training! That's how we end up flying by the seat of our pants most of the time! And I am usually the one who needs rescuing!! Good thing I don't paddle often. hehe

    I have been swimming every other day though and I now remember how much I adore the water. Swimming was out last year because I spent my summer in a cast, but it sure is helping this year. I am hoping that I can lose that "shelf" on the top of my butt/ON my lower back, by swimming laps and thinking TALL AND LEAN, TALL AND LEAN! LOL I sure hope it works because that is where I have the most pain.

    But you had better get your kayaking in because soon you will have to put them up again. My parents have finally cleaned out our NY house and have moved all their stuff in with me. Oh yay. Actually, I love having them here and they didn't burn the house down up there as my uncle is now renting it. So I have a place to stay near the river when I go up.
