Second day in a row....

Second day in a row that I have gone hiking. Something I have never done before. Yesterday went hiking up a mountain and down with my son and some of his co-workers. Today took a much shorter hike with my daughter and our dogs. Hoping the scales will show some movement as I started the week a little "off".... Could only eat a light breakfast on Sunday and then had to drink only clear liquids and horrid stuff the rest of Sunday and very early Monday a.m. in preparation for a colonoscopy. My younger brother passed away of colon cancer a little over 10 yrs and it was recommended I have it done more often so this is my 3rd time in that many years, but will never get used to that awful tasting crap! Kind of threw my week off a little as far as eating, but doing great with the exercising. My daughter said that when I was walking in front of her today, she could notice a real difference in my silhouette! Maybe the scales aren't really moving, but definitely making progress and it is being noticed! emoticon

    I love hiking! Even if the scale doesn't show it, you will firm and tone going up and down the terrain. Besides, your daughter noticed and that always feels emoticon

    I'm glad you are taking care of yourself. Colonoscopies aren't fun, I've been told, but they are necessary! Many lives have been saved by them.

    Keep taking care of yourself and the numbers will move. The main thing is that you are moving, fueling your body smartly and putting your health first.

    I started back on Sparkpeople 2 weeks before I had my colonoscopy back in February . . . my next weigh-in after going through the trauma of "THE PREP" emoticon I showed a 7 lb loss!! What a way to jumpstart my "get my butt back in shape" lifestyle!
