Day 15: Set Backs and Bouncing Back

Hi all! I had a rough few days, a lack of motivation on top of not feeling well just lead me to stop working out and stop tracking my food. Well today I am back! I just completed 7 minutes on the elliptical and feel great for having done it. I leave for my trip to Germany super early on Tuesday so that means I only have a few days left to get myself prepared. I'm not where I wanted to be, but I haven't taken any steps back either. So, I'm going to get my info for today out of the way so we can move on to some interesting articles I found.
On the food front I have slipped a bit. No breakfast today. Lunch is coming up soon and it will be a left over burrito from yesterday stacked with veggies. Dinner hasn't really been decided yet, we're in the pre trip phase at the moment so that means eating things that will end up going bad while we're gone. As far as workouts go I'm going to try to squeeze two more in today and get myself up to 9 minutes on the elliptical. That would put me in line with where I wanted to be last Sunday.
Ok, now on to more fun things!
Having lived in Ireland for the last 5 years I've become used to ingredients and nutrition info everywhere. So when I see something like the article about Papa John's pizza not revealing ingredients it really makes me wonder what they have to hide. You can read the article here news.yahoo.com/papa-john
. Knowing that they keep such things secret, I don't think I could eat there. Do any of you ever eat Papa John's? What do you think about the idea that they don't have ingredient information?
The second article today comes from US News and talks about 5 Food Package Claims that may not mean exactly what you think. And ultimately it shows that you really should research your food before you buy it. Because most people will just see some positive claim, assume that means it is good for you and then buy it. The article even mentions my nemesis, High Fructose Corn Syrup. This is a great read for anyone trying to live a healthier lifestyle. health.usnews.com/health
Anyway, this entry ended up taking me 3 hours to complete thanks to the distractions of life. But now I'm off to get a workout in so I hope everyone has a great day!
