A Birthday Promise - I did it!!!

Hi my Sparkers....
Today I turn 45. I'm excited to finally be moving forward in my weight loss. I've lost seven pounds and I've been exercising a lot more. My husband has joined me, and he has lost over 20.
Last year, I promised myself that I would be published before my next birthday. I took the leap in May and self-published my romantic suspense, No Strings Attached. If you like romance with mystery, you can buy it online through Amazon either in paperback or in Kindle format. By the end of the month I hope to have it available on the nook as well. If you are in the mood for some romance, you can check it out here.
I thought I would take a minute to explain why I went the route to self-publish.
I had an epublisher who said they would consider it after I made revision, but they were very unclear what revisions they wanted. I also understood that I would receive only 9% royalties from them, with no advance.
If I self-published, I could get 70% royalties through Amazon kindle. I was out the cost of the cover design and the cost of an editor, but once that cost was recovered, the money was all mine. I wouldn't owe a publisher anything else.
I work full-time, and don't have time to send and re-send, with only vague ideas of what changes they wanted. While I did revise the book substantially from the time I offered it to them, the revisions were ones that I wanted. When I decided I was done, I was done. I had an editor help me, and then I published it.
I am almost finished with the sequel, and am excited to keep going with this phase in my life. I am doing absolutely what I want to be doing.
