I remember...

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

I remember thinking (and hearing, reading, etc) many times, "you didn't gain the weight overnight, so you won't lose it overnight." This is all very true.

I remember thinking one night when I was in the middle of college. I was stressed to the MAX. I was on overload from work, school, parenting, my wifely duties, etc. I was just majorly stressed. Then all of the sudden I started to realize that one day, it really would be over with. It's not like I could snap my fingers and be a graduate, but one day, I really would be at graduation day. One day, I'd wake up, and I'd be on my final day of classes, my final day of college, my final day of studying, etc. One day would be THE DAY that I got to walk across that stage and graduate.

In a way, weight loss is the same. No, you don't just snap your fingers and wake up at your goal weight with all of your "issues" behind you.

If you put one foot in front of the other, EVERY SINGLE DAY, you WILL eventually get there. If you do the very best you can EVERY SINGLE DAY, there WILL be one day when you'll wake up, roll out of bed, shuffle to the scale, and realize you're at your goal weight. You'll be in control of yourself. It may not happen overnight, but there will be that ONE DAY when you realize you're there... that one day when you realize you freakin' made it.

I cannot WAIT until THAT DAY.

I am totally with you!! I was just thinking that this morning actually. I just cannot wait to be at my goal wait now that I've really started to work towards it, and patience is not something I am known for. :)

Keep at it, we can all do this!
