Cosplay as a Jedi

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

I guess I can't really say that I ever cosplay, but I do like living in my own fantasy world.

I play video games all the time and I know that it is my own way to pretend that I am saving a non-existant world. There are many characters I would like to be, Link (Legend of Zelda), Iroh (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and others, hero and villain alike. But there is one universe that I like best. The Star Wars universe.

I mean sure Mace Windu and Obi-Wan are cool, but when you dress up as a Jedi, or Sith (if you feel so inclined), you don't have to be anyone but yourself. Sure your counterpart from a galaxy far far way may be a twilek, but there is no bound to how you have to look. (Except for your robe and lightsaber). By that I mean that when and if I dress up as a Jedi, I become Tagna, a fearless Jedi Knight who weighs 250 pounds. You may see yourself as a buff defender of the force, or a snakelike deceiver of the dark side. The point is that you are you. No one can judge your Jedi before another.

Haha Nerdy me making self worth important even in the Star Wars Universe.

Cosplaying is awesome. I find the more simple ones more enjoyable as you don't have to worry about it breaking or having to lug big pieces around. And usually the more simple ones are easier to fix.

P.S. Nerdfitness, fitocracy. Both are sites that encourage geeking out and fitness.
