Color run update.

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

So it turns out with my busy schedule, blogging every day isn't realistic. That's okay! I'm still going to try to blog as often as possible and I'm making logging my nutrition every day more of a priority.

So I did my first 5k on Sunday! It was the Color Run in Milwaukee. It didn't go quite as well as hoped for but I'm not surprised either and I made it through in slightly less time than I predicted! Yay! The thing I was most disappointed about was that I couldn't run the whole thing, but like I said, not surprised given how my training leading up to the race went. I'm planning on signing up to do the Glo Run in October and my goal for that is to run the whole thing, no matter how slow!

hey way to go! Can't get fitness minutes blogging, unless you type pretty fast.

Good job with your 5 K, I agree not walking is not that important. You had the experience and you signed up for another one already!

This could be the beginning! We might be reading about Foxsie, the next iron woman marathoner!

Don't worry about running the whole way! When I did the Warrior Dash, I procrastinated so much I didn't even train at all for it. Bad idea, I could barely go two minutes (and this is REALLY pushing myself) before stopping and having to gasp for breath.

That's awesome. Congratulations on your first 5K. Don't worry about not running the whole way. Lots of people take walk breaks, especially beginners, and the color run is the perfect run to take your time and have fun in the moment. emoticon emoticon

The important thing is that you did it, it doesn't matter if you walked and ran the whole way, you did it your way! Congrats on getting out there and doing your best.
