Working on my Mile

I have never liked running haha even when I played softball in high school and that was easy because it wasn't endurance running. Now though I would really like to run a whole mile. I know it is all mental because I have the strength in my legs to keep going but I started to freak out and breathe funny. I am working to a 10 minute mile and maybe better on this journey. I got a 13 minute one today, woohoo! I didn't run the whole time of course but I know I am getting there which is a pretty cool thing. :)

    Keep working it and you will get there! If you're close, try slowing down a little. I ran 1.5 miles today without a walk break by concentrating on maintaining a slower pace. I also love the runkeeper 5k training program. It has one day of 1-minute speed intervals, so I feel like I"m working on my speed, which makes it easier to run slow for distance. I believe it will all come together at some point and I'll be able to run both fast and long!

    I can jog a mile on the Wii or on the treadmill but put me out on the road and I freak. But I'm ok on trails. So I totally agree with you that it's a mental game. Keep working for you goals

    I can relate to not liking to run. I see people look happy, and people who can only run with a grimace. I might be a long-grimace runner.
