4 months post op and first 5k

I had to document this for the record because I AM SO EXCITED.
It's been 4 months since major surgery to repair two severed tendons in my right ankle. The longus and brevus. These are the two main tendons that move your foot up and down and side to side.
I have been doing water jogging and water aerobics, but haven't really tried the long distance walking on the treadmill. BECAUSE I WAS A CHICKEN and didn't want to hurt myself AGAIN.
Today, however, is the last day on our PINK VIKING weekend workout to log the 5K for 500 points. We've had since Thursday to get it done. Something always got in the way, like pulling a muscle in my back over the weekend. Well, I am not one to pass on 500 points so I DID IT.
I put a movie in the DVD (RED) and started out slowly, increasing after a bit, to where I could feel the tendons waking up.
It took me 75:55 minutes to go 3.161 miles at 2.5-2.6 mph. I know this is slow, but I walked it and was pretty careful with my tendons.
I didn't have any shin splints or cramping in my ankle or foot. Actually, I probably could have gone further, but I didn't want to push it. (Now I may not be able to walk tomorrow, but we'll deal with that then!)
