28 weeks: Now Entering 3rd Trimester

Monday, August 12, 2013

Hey guys! I can't believe the time is seriously going this quickly! How did I get all the way to the 3rd trimester already??! Our little lineman will be here before we know it and I feel like each day something new gets added to the TO-DO list. I told my mom last night I wish I could borrow an army for a weekend and just assign tasks and get it all knocked out. BUT sadly, its just me here in St Louis and I really don't have anyone able to come be my army. So each day I take another little task and set myself to getting them all done.

Here are a couple 28 week pictures I took this morning. From the front I think I look pretty normal (for my higher weights) and then from the side you can see a bit more of my bump. I can guarantee though that some of that bump is just camera angle. Most people still don't realize I'm pregnant! 7months and still not 100% showing.... c'mon bump lets get goin!!

ps... black skinny maternity jeans are my new love. seriously- these are genius!

Symptoms Update:
Weight Gain: +13-15lbs (CW: 176-178)

Bump: Still just a little one... hope I grow some before 30 weeks because I'm taking some surprise maternity pictures that weekend for my boyfriend as an anniversary gift!

Movements: YES YES YES! Pretty sure lil man is already gettin his game on in there and practicing his 40yard sprint and tackling maneuvers. We're talking University of Alabama 2030 recruit + 2034 NFL DRAFT! emoticon

Names: yes :-) can't wait to share it with everyone once he's here!

Cravings- nope not really!

Complications: skin rashes are HEALED!!!! THANK YOU GOD! I still have some scarring from one, but at least the worst of it is over (i hope). I credit it to olive oil baths!!

Contractions: NOPE- just a lot of back pain!

Coping Mechanisms: baths every night + massage

Next Appt- TOMORROW: GLUCOSE SCREENING so please be praying! I try to eat as healthy as possible and to maintain relatively even levels of blood sugars- but I know sometimes there's nothing you can really control during pregnancy. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Starting to get excited/nervous about the actual BIRTHING PROCESS. I've been reading about lamaze and natural childbirth and our natural childbirthing class starts on Sept 11th. As I'm reading I realize that I'm less nervous about the process as I thought I would be because the whole thing is so naturally feminine. I'm way more worried about the other types of procedures- getting an epidural/c-section. I'd rather deal with the pain than deal with those. There's something so powerful to me about the birth process! How our bodies are created to deal with the pain, all the right chemicals released at the appropriate times to get you through. Of course there are complications and things that require medical intervention and I totally understand that, but I definitely want to give it a go without! Looking forward to learning more as the weeks progress. Praying that I am able to have the natural delivery I am hoping for.

Hope you all have a great week!!

You look great! I was about right where you are as far as weight gain, too. I am up to 181.5 lb now and I am 39 weeks. My due date is the 17th. I started out at about 155 lb. I had only gained like 10 lb. but then I gained like 8 lb. in a two week period and another 4 lb. in one week as of my last few appointments! It is fluid retention. I hope you don't get these swollen feet, ankles, and even calves that I have! It started around 34 weeks. Congrats on your baby! I hope all continues to go well for you. This is my first baby, so I don't know what to expect quite yet. Anyway, best of luck! Can't wait to see more updates. emoticon
