When we get off the path God has put before us, we need to immediately ask for His forgiveness and get back on track putting our complete trust in Him. The quicker we get back on track, we will discover that getting off track was mainly a small bump in the road rather than a major setback. Think about when we swerve in a car. If we continue to go the direction of the swerve, we will wreck but if we immediately turn back in the right direction it is easier to stay focused on where we are going.
Psalm 33:4 “For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, help us today to know can trust You in all things. Help us to remember You are with us even when we go astray. Help us to remember You are all we need to get back on track and begin going in the right direction again. Help us to immediately see when we are beginning to do wrong, turn from that sin and turn to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
God wants us to stay on track for Him. But when we do go the wrong way, He wants us to know He can lead us back to His path.
Knowing how much God wants us to succeed and to follow Him should give us the incentive to stay on the path He has created for us.
We all have different paths to take in life. Otherwise the same road would be crowded.
There are different roads in life that lead to the same place; however, there are also roads that lead to nowhere. Before you leave out today be sure you have the map God has laid out for you.
Traveling down the road God has created for you requires trust in Him and will get you to the place God wants you to be.
Going through the motions by doing the right things but not putting complete trust in God will lead us down the wrong path.
Romans 9:31-32a “But the people of Israel, who tried so hard to get right with God by keeping the law, never succeeded. Why not? Because they were trying to get right with God by keeping the law instead of by trusting in him.” (NLT)
