I feel like a sandwich...

Saturday, August 10, 2013

No, I don't mean I want to EAT a sandwich. I feel like a sandwich myself, squished between the younger and the older generation. Yes, my kids aren't really kids anymore, but I still can't seem to not worry over them, or feel bad when things don't go well for them. Like the debilitating health issues my daughter has faced lately, or like today, when my almost 22 year old was planning on going skydiving for the first time. Hard not to worry about that! (It got postponed a couple days due to weather, so I get a few more days to think about that one.) And at the same time I've got my parents here with me, both elderly and with health problems. Sat in E.R. with Dad for 4 hours again today. He came home with a catheter and a bag that I get to empty every so often. This is one reason I HAVE to eat right, exercise, and stay healthy. I have so many people depending on me for different types of care, I can't afford not to take care of my own health. So, while I admit I am feeling a little sorry for myself, mostly I am thankful that I am able to do what needs to be done.

That is a great description! I will be praying for you, and for your family. The positive thing that I read in here is that you ARE aware of WHY you need to take better care of your health and you are succeeding!
And, every now and then, one can't help feel a little sorry for one self, but you are also seeing your blessings too. Take care of yourself - caregivers tend to neglect their own needs. As for your children....as mothers do we ever not have something to be concerned about? I do wish for safety for your son and that your daughter's health will improve greatly. emoticon

Prayers for you. It is hard but you are strong. Kids are always kids no matter how old they get. I always heard that we turn back to children as we age and have seen that also. Take care of yourself, eat healthy, exercise, that will help relieve the body's stress.
