Taking a Big Bite

Saturday, August 10, 2013

Um, wow! I just spent a fair amount of time this morning on the site. Oh, and by the way, I had a heck of a leg workout today! I completed Week 1, Day 3 of the Live Fit program. You might recall, I kicked off that little project on 8/1/13. I stalled out after Day 2. Two days of arms, though different muscle groups, laid me out! My arms were sore for probably a week! But enough about that! I want to talk about the plan!

I usually set pretty modest goals: Get me out of the 240s, the 230s, the 220s...oh, wouldn't ONEderland be nice? So, those are modest, incremental goals. I let the site guide me through some goal setting. OMG, can I really embark on a two year process to go from 232 to 125 and 16% body fat? I can get so nervous of failing that I shy away from trying. So, let me put it into perspective. Of course, it's attainable. And I can have what seems to be a crazy stretch goal if I put some more tangible, short term goals in the window.

I haven't given up on my 'Take your MEDS" acronym.
1. Move - 10k steps and Live Fit weight lifting.
2. Eat - Stay in nutrition ranges and track it all.
3. Drink - 64-120 oz. of water daily.
4. Sleep - 8 hours a night.

Of course I can do that! Say it with me! Of course I can do that!

emoticon and so will I. Let's set some lofty goals for the end game, but don't forget to figure out the day to day actionable tactics that will enable you to get there.

Do amazing things in the remaining 143 days of 2013 and don't forget: You Are Worth It!

    I love your MEDS!
Have you checked out the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women: Lift Like a Man, Look Like a Goddess"? My college roommate got into body-building and recommended this book and I like it a lot. And YES, you can meet your goals in two years. Be sensible and accountable and emoticon
