Back on Track - Day 5: Oh those wonderful mangos!!!

Thursday, August 08, 2013

Today I am thinking about how absolutely delightful my breakfast was: some low fat cottage cheese mixed with chopped mango slathered on a couple of slices of pumpernickel bread. I will use the word delicious, but it does not do the flavor of what I ate justice. I love, love, love mango, I hate, hate, hate peeling and slicing it, but there is not another fruit that is anywhere near worth the effort.

If you are old enough to remember the old days of "diet food" being cottage cheese and cling peaches (I am, and then some emoticon ), think that, but even more delicious with the mango instead of the peaches. And a bit more healthy because the mango was fresh and not canned in that sugary syrup. But that same smooth combination. Hard to believe it's healthy too!

I am happy to report that my workouts are on track. I got up a LOT to go to the bathroom last night because, for reasons I can't explain, I drank a whole lot of water way late into the night last night, so well, as you know, what goes in must come out. Thus, I didn't exactly bound out of bed this morning, instead hitting the snooze button several times. Thus, I was short on time once it was workout time this morning. The Tina of the past 8 months would have said "oh well, no time." The Tina of the last 5 days said "so you can't do 20, do 15."

And so, I'd say, I continue to be "back on track."

Keep up the great work Tina! I love any kind of fruit with cottage cheese. May need to add that to my grocery list today.... Thanks!

And now I can't have cottage cheese or the bread. I am missing some of my favorite "go to" snacks/lunches big time these days. We don't find as many "really good" mangos here. Seem dry textured and not very sweet.
