Falling off the wagon in a good way

Yesterday, my DH and I celebrated our 40th anniversary together. We celebrated by going out to dinner to Evvia in Palo Alto. It is an amazing Greek restaurant. If one resolves to celebrate by eating how far wrong can you go embracing the Mediterranean Diet? Mike and have been to Greece nad grew up a few blocks from St Spirodon, the largest Greek Orthodox church in North America. Our neighborhood in NY city was part of the great New York melting pot of European imigrants and almost every restaurant regardless of ethnicity was owned or run by Greeks. We have always loved Greek food.
Spanakotiropita (fresh greens and feta in phillo dough)
Tiganita Kalamarakia (crispy calamari with Lemon herb aioli)
Crusty Bread with the most virgin olive oil around
Horiatiki (Greek salad)
Mike had Kokinisto me Manestra (Lamb shank) and
I had Kotopoulo Souvlas (Lemon Chicken)
The service was amazing and the restaurant comped our dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary:
Galaktoboureko - phyllo wrapped vanilla bean semolina custard with pistachio ice cream
Very little of this is in the SP tracker but at least I had my veggies so I added 2000 extra calories to my tracker and called it all even.
I don't feel guilty about any of this because some times everyone just deserves a little celebration and this morning I was down 3/4 of a pound. Go figger!
