TRUST GOD NOT MONEY
If we are honest with ourselves, we would admit that money stays on our minds a great deal. It is not because we love money but because we need it. Even if we forget about it for a while, we are reminded again and again by bills that are due, our children needs or having to repair something in our home. Money can take care of so many things but it can give us the security, hope and joy that God can. Let’s be sure today we are not trusting in our money to help us but only trusting in God who can richly give us all we need.
1 Timothy 6:17 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, we know we need money to buy even the basic things in life but we also know that we need to put our trust in You and not in money. You are our Provider who gives us all things. Through our obedience and trust in You, we are able to be rich beyond our wildest imagination. Money is only a thing that allows us to buy more things. You are our Creator, our Provider and our God. With You in our lives, our need for things will melt away. Help us today to focus on You, not money. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Money can provide us with many things but God can provide life.
When we put our trust in money, we will have many things of the world but very little things of the hearth.
Our money is only part of our lives, not all of our lives.
Money can’t buy happiness. Only God can give us the true joy that will make us happy.
We need to search for God every day rather than searching for money.
Psalm 70:4 “But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “God is great!” (NLT)
