8/4/13: Rest day.

Monday, August 05, 2013

I really struggle with rest days.
I know my body needs them, but I always seem to "lose my groove," you know?

I weighed in this morning at 127.2 lbs before breakfast- but my body is odd and likes to, uh, empty itself only after I eat. But 127.2 is a great weight and I'm happy my body is healthy and happy :)

I did my yoga today (simple and restorative!) and the practice was wonderful. It was interrupted a few times by a needy 7-year old who was thrilled to be back home with her big sis, but I figure: love for everybody is part of yoga. And not seeing her cute little face for days made an impact :)

I've been under-eating lately. I wanted to refuel today, but I just... couldn't. I've been loading up with veggies (trying to like them more!) and it's had a negative impact on how much I can eat. I can't even get to 1200 today- and I want 1500!

That lump is still there. My mom looked at today when my sister hit it and sent my neck and jawline in pain. She says it's just a swollen lymph node, which I already was pretty sure of anyway. The question becomes: why? I'm not sure if I need to take more rest days or not for it. I've got no known infections, no open wounds, and aside from the that and feeling a little run-down, I feel fine. So we'll see. I'll try to keep up my workouts, and if the swelling doesn't go down, I'll contact my doctor about it.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Gosh I get you on this one. You just get everything moving, and then bombs away. It seems to end. I found the trick is to pre-plan your rest day, and the next. I'll make my rest day food and even schedule my time to eat it. For the day after, it's back to scheduling, but exercise this time. Your rest day should have activity such as a walk/stretch or yoga.

This way seems to work best for me. I'll get it right 75% of the time. Other things are to keep the bad away (food and distractions). Yes, this will all be easier in your own place.

Best of luck to you. emoticon

Everyone needs a rest day---maybe just do less exercise that day----instead of a run--go for a walk---

Veggies are surprisingly filling, aren't they. Must be all that water.

Have a great day, hope that swollen lymph node improves.
