Wedding festivities for daughter begin tonight!

Friday, August 02, 2013

Well we have finally made it to the last week before the wedding of my daughter. Tonight my BFF and daughter arrive. The last minute preparations before the BIG Friday August 9.

We're almost to the point where if it isn't won't get done. Everything falling into place. Funny the humorous things that have happened. Yesterday we woke to half the power on in our house. Ended up the power company ran a new line and wanted to put it in the ground...but hubby talked them into leaving it until after the wedding. Doesn't hurt anything and it's not where people can trip over it.

Things are falling into place for the brunch the morning after the wedding.

I so enjoy having a house full of family and friends. It's been a long time. Looking forward to lots of laughter and family time together.

Hubby has outdone himself going through his piles and sorting through things and packing things up and throwing things away. I'm impressed! He's done it all for his daughter to have the best wedding possible.

Looking forward to my new son. He is a precious gift from God...and he puts up with my daughter.

The minister and his wife are our dear friends who are missionaries to Russia but currently live state side about 3 hours away. They are coming to stay in a hotel with their 4 children and it will be good to spend time with them also. A mini vacation for them too.

It is all working out to be lots of dear friends and family surrounding us to celebrate our daughter's marriage.

EJ and groomsman arrive Monday night to stay until Thursday when they move to a hotel for the night...will be fun to have them around also. Planning a couple of game nights with everyone. The guys are in charge of grilling for meals. Son and daughter in law and grandpups arrive Saturday evening and spending the week with us to help out however!

Fun times....will try to post pictures.....

Kathleen.. So sorry I haven't been getting your blogs. WOW.. yesterday was the big day. Sure hope everyone went as planned. I've been on this journey with you all the way and I can say I could see her walking down the isle with everyone smiling so big.. and you saying whew... it's over finally. And of course..everything went as planned. Mom enjoyed herself. You and hubby sitting back and wondering how this every happened. How did our little girl grow up so fast. Wishing you a day full of relaxation. Donna

    Have a wonderful time!

And I realized, the week before our wedding - if things weren't done, they weren't going to make or break the wedding. The important stuff was done. The rest was incidental. Keep reminding yourself and your daughter of that.
