So I'm done talking about food on here for a bit. Today was really great. We don't get to be just tourists very often, even though we are always travelling. St Augustine is the oldest city in the US so you see a lot of history. We went into the historic part of town and walked around for a couple of hours. Of course, they have all kinds of goodies for the tourists.

I had fun being a tourist, and even had fun getting caught in the rain. When it rains here, it does get busy with it and the light shows are cool too! Debbie was joking that we were about to go through a Fringe portal because of the lightning flashes and flickering. Seattle doesn't do storms like this. Really, I think I heard thunder once in the 15 years we lived out that way.

We are heading back to Jacksonville tomorrow and will be hitting the beach with some friends on Saturday. Church on Sunday, then ministering to some folks on Monday. All in the life of an urban missionary.

I would like to come back to St. Augustine and take the tour bus and see all the different stuff with the history behind it. The other thing I want to do if we come back is visit the alligator farm. I'd like to visit the Everglades, and see them in the wild, but it might be a while before we get that far south. I'll just have to settle for the hundreds of gecko lizards I've seen on my walks! I will mention that I was a bit astonished to see a lizard leap this morning. I thought they only crawled!

I haven't ever been to the Keys either, but we have definitely been having fun here. The furthest south I've been in Florida is Ft Lauderdale. The beach there was very clear and really amazing, but I didn't get to spend much time on it, since I was there for a conference. The beach here in Jacksonville has pretty good waves so people are all out on boogie boards and paddle surf boards. It looks like a blast but my friends and I just were playing around close to the shore. The waves were bigger than I'm used to.

We do a lot of "free hugs" ministering in parks and outside the bars, and we found T-Shirts that say Free Hugs today. We will still have the signs when we have a planned ministry, but we decided to get the t-shirts and be ready to give a hug at random time and places. They're cool.

We will be here in Florida until Wednesday, then we will be heading for Atlanta. Debbie and I are teaching a class on Friday, street ministry on Saturday, then Debbie is preaching on Sunday. It's all good!

I've never been to Florida but would like to visit one day. I think the Keys would be more my kind of vaca from what I've heard.

Sounds like you def enjoyed your time there. How long is your stay there and where do you go next?

    Take care friend.
