Packaging and Marketing Works

Thursday, August 01, 2013

Last week I saw a version of Les Mis with one of the Jonas Bros. The difference between his voice and the rest of the cast was huge. His voice was timid and weak while the rest of the cast had strong voices that projected the emotion needed for their roles.

Because the kid is a celebrity, he earns millions through his concerts. Professional singers who have beautiful voices earn a lot less for singing in the different productions.

Yesterday, while flipping through channels I saw a little bit of the Kardashians in Greece. I watched a few minutes because it was filmed in Greece. I once again was struck on how this family earns millions while professionals in other fields earn a standard paycheck.

The difference between the acting of K family and actors on the stage is also huge.

Seems like perception is usually greater than reality.

Interesting observations - I find that my opinion and that of the market don't always agree.

It is a strange industry! I wish they would pay more for quality of the performer rather than the name of the 'celebrity'.
