Tuesday vacation progress

Getting vibes from hubby that we are not "playing " enough while on vacation. So today we drove up to St. Cloud (a good 60 some miles or more) to fill out a donation request at Scheel's Sporting Goods for the gun club Youth Day in September. Visited with several employees we know and then headed back home. Jim still stalling on getting cracking on finishing the garage project. Now wanted to go look at shelving. Went to Menards. Fleet Farm and Lowes. I just want the workbench gone- worry about this after we know how much space , and how we want to set it up. At least the big mission is accomplished.

Finally home about 4pm, and we dig in. The workbench is GONE! I have a nice pile of 2 x8 lumber to get rid of. At least the big mission is accomplished. Jumped in the shower since I was hot, stick and dusty. The little blower we bought worked very nice. A friend called and he is on his way over and we will go out and have nice, relaxing dinner.

Now I feel I can focus on a vacation and relax and have some fun!

We're getting a new roof on the front of the house tomorrow. We have wood shakes and we've had a problem with sweet locust pods clogging a valley and creating an ice dam. It has messed up the roof around the valley. We had one of the sweet locusts removed and the other trimmed way back. We did a "quick fix" last year but that didn't work so we have to remove the shakes up to the peak and replace them. As they will look different we have to have the entire front reroofed. It's a spendy process to say the least. Once that is finished then we have to repair the interior damage. At least we have insurance payment for the inside. It won't pay for the roof which is the big expense. That spent our vacation money. We were going to Australia to visit a friend. Oh, well, next year.
