Unstoppable Race Report

Sunday, July 28, 2013

So, I’m pretty proud of myself right now. This morning I ran a 5k – It wasn’t until this past Friday I wasn’t even sure I would go; It wasn’t until I got to the start line this morning I was even sure I could finish. Even though I failed to make it past week 5 on my C25K training, I’m proud that I still went to the race and did my best.

My friend and I before the race.

Unstoppable.

My best was 48:35, and that’s okay. Friday, I realized that doing this on my own is too hard. I give myself too many outs. I need someone to feel accountable to other than myself. I’m also pretty proud of myself for admitting that. So, I joined a 5K training group, ‘No Boundaries’. Tonight is our first meeting. It’s a 10 week program with a graduation race the first part of October. I am going to leave that 48:35 in the dust. There will be no fear or hesitation or self-doubt come October.
