Garage Sale Exercise Plan

Sunday, July 28, 2013

Every weekend - well, actually beginning on Friday, my husband and I hit all the local garage sales and thrift stores. We've done this almost every weekend for the last 5 years. What I didn't realize, until yesterday, is that I start the day with an egg McMuffin (now I do the new Delight), then lunch is usually Dairy Queen (should have been Subway). We don't get home until dinner time - which left no time for exercise. While getting in and out of the car and walking up and down driveways and stairs was exhausting, I wouldn't actually call it "exercise". I am looking for ideas on how to incorporate true exercise into the garage sale-ing experience. Ideas anyone?

I'm not sure it can be done while garage sale hunting! But when I have a long day at work, I usually exercise in front of the television set while watching a regular program (nightly news, or another show I will watch anyway). I do zumba dance steps, or walk in place, and I jog out to the driveway during the commercial breaks; I have hand held weights. At least I get a half hour in!
