July 27- Summer Memories

Saturday, July 27, 2013

This week's 1st blog challenge for Aspire and Inspire BSG challenge is to remember some fond summer memories.

Some of the things that I remember the most is traveling in a big conversion van (no tv) with my family and camping across the country! We went everywhere with the van and tent. After a few weeks together- we always picked at each other- since there were 4 of us kids, but the places we saw and experienced were priceless!

We traveled to most of the states. The first time we ever stayed in a hotel, I was 12 and the only reason we did was because the campground was flooded and tents were floating away (ah, North Dakota).

I loved camping, playing in the rivers and creeks, and seeing odd roadside attractions. My father's favorite pastime was to take us to all the reservations, antique stores, and tons of museums.

I wouldn't trade all these travels for the world!!! Now, I am finally closing in on reaching all 50 states, most of the Canadian Providences.

This is our retirement plan. No 9-5 jobs, just a home base and an RV. I want to see America! emoticon

What wonderful memories you have to cherish. How fortunate to have visited many of the states. When hubby and I got married a little over 8 years ago, I had only been in a handful of states. However hubby has ensured that I have seen more now. LOL
