the GPS of deconstructing weight losers mindset

Thursday, July 25, 2013

the GPS voice sounds exactly like 'TWISTED SISTER' . she starts off as if she is caring and encouraging and pushing you into the right direction. WATCH OUT - she will steer you wrong long before you know it. you will NOT be able to correct your moves and BANG - you have come undone!!!!
it's like this - you have had a very hard, discouraging week, and today was particularly lousy . that voice says - you sacrificed a lovely lunch out to catch up on work. you need a break. why don't you just take a little left of the dining room into the kitchen. just another right hand turn and open the pantry.
you know you should not - but it is too late and you see choco chip cookies.
that voice says - what's one little cookie- after all you have given up. just make a quick drop into the box and retrieve one or two.
you put on the brakes and say no- but then you back up and because you are in the forbidden zone - you are surrounded by temptation.
you are in tears - you are conflicted -
but that voice butts in again - come on now - you will feel better - you know i am right - today is over and you can always begin your deprivation again tomorrow.
before you know it - you have scarfed down cookies, handfuls of peanuts, (but they were dry roasted and lightly salted!!) large can of DIET pop -
so you see how you vail your wrong moves - cause that voice is telling you that even tho you have made all these wrong turns - you are making 'good' bad choices.
oxymoron? no you just a MORON!!!
stop this - and look at the destruction of your weight loser's mindset.

    OH BB,
You're singing my tune ! Boy oh boy, do I know that song . I've sung it consistently the past 2-3 weeks & after just keep saying, Why did you do that ? Why can't you control yourself ?

I like the emoticon this at the end. We need to stop turning to food for comfort & gorging, but we also have A LOT of stress daily on our plates being full time caregivers, now you to two people & we have to take A LOT on & hold a lot in & I think we turn to food to get our satisfied feeling, but that's only temporary .So we need to be consistent on managing it & figure out some skills to care for ourselves in other ways.

Well, at least we're in the boat together ! emoticon emoticon emoticon
