My Fitbit...

Thursday, July 25, 2013

I purchased a Fitbit in June and simply love it! It motivates me to walk more. Walking with it I should walk a total of 10,000 steps a day. I haven't made that yet, I made my first 5,000 steps a few weeks ago and to start with I am suppose to walk at least 6,000 steps a day. I'm just happy with what I can do right now. Anyway once I sync my steps on my fitbit on my laptop, I generally lay my fitbit on top of my laptop. I did this on Saturday afternoon after attending a women's retreat. Usually I put my fitbit on every morning, well Sunday I forgot about it (I generally don't walk on Sunday's) so later that evening I thought about it and it was not on my laptop. I asked my sister and my niece if they moved it for some reason and they had not seen it. On Saturday my nephew and his brother were over and that immediately came to my mind. So I called to ask if one of them picked it up and thought it was a toy. They both said no. I don't like to accuse anyone of taking something that belongs to me - but things do not just disappear! I have been upset about this, but I have had to let it go and forgive. Mind you I won't forget! I ordered another fitbit and it should arrive tomorrow. So my niece's boyfriend says he will pay for a new one when he has the money - I say we'll see. I definitely will not be laying my new fitbit down to be missing in action again! Anyway what would you do?! Be blessed all you sparkers and fitbit walkers!!

I think you did everything possible to find it; I have all kinds of little pieces of tools that need to be recharged from time to time. I put the item, attached to its charging device, in the kind of zippered or drawstring bag that you might use for pencils / writing equipment or for safekeeping of jewelery. That way, it gives the message: If you open it, you are going where you aren't invited -- and it gives me a reminder that it's time to put it on again.

Good for you to recognize the value of using a device that is more accurate and doesn't need replacement batteries. emoticon

I think you did all you could. Maybe it will turn up somewhere in your home. I misplaced my one day and now I make sure I out it in a safe spot each time I take it off. I have only had it for a month & I love mine too. I had been averaging 5000-6000 steps with my old pedometer but have done 10,000 steps since I got the Fitbit by marching in place in front of the TV. I can do that small increments of time throughout the evening.
