If Only, If Only

I have been over my calorie goals the past two days. I know what the problem is. I always know what the problem is. Knowing the problem is not the issue. The issue is my apparent ineptitude to do anything about it.

I went over my calories because I was not mindful or intentional about what or how much I was eating. My plan looked great. It was spot on and healthy but as the day progressed and changes were made the calories went higher and higher.

If only I paid more attention.

If only I referred to my plan.

If only I did this.

If only I didn’t do that.

If only…

Life is full of if only’s but as the wise Professor Dumbledore says “it does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”

I need to stop beating myself up over what I should have done and do it. Every day is another chance to get it right.

    If its and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas :) That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw your blog title. You are right though, tomorrow is a new day. I know that I have to plan and pre-plan my meals and get them tracked in the day before or I will blow it! One thing that's helping me stay in my goal is oatmeal. I eat 2 packets at a time and its 220-260 calories and sooooo filling.
