Yeast Cleanse Day 3
Wednesday, July 24, 2013
I didn't start the yeast cleanse until this past Monday cuz we were down in Southern CA visiting friends this past weekend and I didn't want to be off sugar and wheat for that particular visit (friends' baby boy turned 1 and there was a great party) and I generally have a hard time eating very well when traveling and relying on others for food. SO I started Monday. So today is my third day off wheat and sugar and my third day taking the supplements. So there's supposedly 8 active ingredients in these supplements, which you take 4 pills at once, one time a day for 30 days. It's called Candaclear 4. One pill is basically garlic, another is cinnamon, and the others are probiotics. Well, if anyone else ever tries these, take them at the BEGINNING of a largish meal (not just with a snack) and not at the end. I learned yesterday that the concentrated garlic and cinnamon are the dominant flavors of your burps for the next 4 hours if you take them at the end of your meal. (probably TMI for some)
I don't feel any different yet, and even if I would have noticed any improvement by day 2, I'm also in my period week and having my usual migraines so that's distracting from everything else. My sugar cravings aren't noticeable yet, but then they usually aren't for the first 3 or so days I'm off sugar. The only noticeable change is my weight. Monday morning I weighed 187.0. I know quite a bit of that was bloat from eating too much sugar and salt over the weekend and also period week bloat. Tuesday I was down to 186.0 and this morning I was down to 184.3. So the bloat is gone now, both from the weekend and probably mostly from the period even though it won't start til later tonight or tomorrow.
I'm trying to keep up all my other healthy habits. I'm eating within or at the low end my calorie range (obviously having no sugar) and that's easier to do when I've removed most of my snack options (crackers or toast). I got my 5000 steps in yesterday and the day before, today will be harder but I'll try. I haven't done any cardio this week but I usually can't on the period week cuz of how it aggravates the migraines. Hopefully a month of really closely sticking to my healthy habits (more so because I'm trying to do the yeast cleanse) will actually get me below 180 again.
