A Quick Update on My Boot Camp Progress and Why I Love Strength Training

I'm approaching the end of my annual summer boot camp and thought I'd throw on some progress stats before I get caught up in my vacation preparations. I still have five more days left, but here's what I've achieved so far since June 15. For the first time, weight loss was not a goal of mine and it's been hard to not drop a few pounds with all of my increased activity. I've been cycling up and down pretty much every week and have come out with a slight loss as of this morning. I took a ton of progress pictures this morning and have shared what I think is the most striking one, considering I haven't dropped much weight.

Starting Stats:
Weight: 148
Chest: 38
Waist: 29
Hips: 39

Ending Stats (as of this morning--five days from the end):
Weight: 145
Chest: 37.5
Waist: 28
Hips: 38

And the biggest change--my back view! My progress pictures showed nice changes all around, but none were as shocking to me as the reduction in cellulite and improved tone that I saw in my hamstrings and glutes (as well as the increased definition in my waist). These are two of my biggest and most stubborn problem areas, so I'm thrilled with these results. I was tempted to hit myself with some self tanner since I'm so white, but didn't want a faux tan to show false progress. Now I'm going to spritz away, lol! Just goes to show how much improvement you can see from a solid heavy lifting routine. I'm ready for vacation now!
