Tuesday, July 23rd - Day in Review
Tuesday, July 23, 2013
My day started off kind of in a funk, as my status says. I woke up pretty neutral, ready to go ahead and walk into the day and handle whatever it threw at me.
Well, I wasn't expecting what it threw at me.
The kiddo went to open a new box of Capri Sun and wasn't having any luck doing it with the perforations, so he grabbed a pair of scissors... ...we had juice on the floor, counter, and all over my shirt. And this is my last clean exercise shirt. (I made him pull his laundry out of the dryer this afternoon.)
In addition to that, I found out the trip that he will be taking with my in-laws (his aunt and grandparents), a trip he'd been looking forward to wasn't the trip he was expecting at all. He was thinking he'd be going to visit his uncle in another state, but instead, it ended up being an in-state road trip. I found out via email, and as soon as I read what was planned, I thought "Oh man.. He's going to be crushed."
It was hot and humid outside today, so I didn't really want to do much jogging, although I did end up doing some- because of the heat, I think it affected my BPM, because I did spend a lot of time in the higher end of my range than I did yesterday, and I'm 90% sure I was doing the same motions.
Work was average- it wasn't very busy, but it wasn't very slow either.. still slow enough for me to take off early.
I took off early because I was expecting to sit down with the kiddo and explain to him about his trip, and console him if necessary.... It wasn't necessary. He was sad, but- after he did some cheering about the places that WERE on the itinerary- he just turned around and said, "But we WILL go on that other trip at some point, yeah?" I'm happy to be proven wrong in instances like this. :)
Dinner was delicious, if not very nutritious (Beef Stroganoff: Egg Noodles, Beef, Cream of Mushroom, and Ranch) My other meals for the day were okay (Egg burrito for breakfast and leftover curry with an apple for lunch,) so all in all, I'd give today's mealplan a B+.
Oh, and tonight was movie night. The kiddo, hubby, and I watched an anime movie: Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaia.. it was a lot more violent than I remembered, I winced a lot. And then after the kiddo went to bed, hubby and I watched Van Wilder. I've never seen it before, and I went in expecting raunchy humor.. it did not disappoint, but it wasn't over the top like in some other movies of its genre (although there is one scene...). I've got Sugarcult's Bouncing Off The Walls stuck in my head now, because of it!
And now, good friends, I am off to bed. G'night!
