Day 114 - Taking it Easy

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

I came home from the hospital and just rested between my bed and the couch. My husband and oldest son went to my youngest son's baseball playoff game where he was pitching. I hate missing games! But I just was not feeling stable enough to attend in the early evening heat. They were losing by 4 points but actually pulled it off and won the game! Yay, I get to see them play tonight!

I slept very deeply and only got up three times to use the washroom. Usually I get up at least five or more times to go....

I feel better this morning but I will not do my morning walks today. I just want to rest some more and get back into feeling more normal. If I walk tomorrow, I will do no more than two or three miles...depending on how I am feeling.

I lost another half pound since I didn't eat much yesterday and the day before. Yesterday in the hospital, I had to fast for all the tests they needed to do. I finally ate around 2:30 pm. When I came home from the hospital last night, I just had a small bowl of cereal and lots of water.

So, today's agenda is to relax, watch TV, read, drink my water, eat lightly, research on how to raise the good cholesterol and lower the bad, and hopefully feel well enough to attend my son's baseball game.

Have a great day everyone!

I'm so glad to know there is nothing REALLY wrong! I am 27 and I have the same cholesterol issue. My DR said to lose weight and just eat lower cholesterol foods. He said its hard to raise good cholesterol but lowering the bad would be hugely beneficial. Heart disease runs in my family: my uncle died of a heart attack/ stroke combo when he was 48 and my dad had a quadruple bypass when he was 49. I take OMEGA 3 fish oil b/c I hate fish and just make sure to watch my cholesterol. Try not to eat more than 200mg per day and also watch the fats! Remember: Unsaturated fats = good and POLYunsaturated fats (like vegetable oils and OMEGA 3 fatty acids) help lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels and olive oil is high in MONOunsaturated fats (good for lowering risk of heart disease in general). Other sources include; olives, avacados, hazelnuts, almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeks, and olive, canola, and peanut oils. Also, remember to try to avoid anything that has "partially hydrogenated" anything in it!

    Hope this helps!
