Moving Again

Monday, July 22, 2013

I'm moving again for the third time in two years. Am I freaked out? Not really. Though I can feel the familiar habit of over-planning and stressing start to rise up, it doesn't have the strength that it once did. I've wanted to travel and see new places since I was very young but was kept in one place by a variety of responsibilities and situations. Now I'm free! When I make wishes or ask for blessings, travel is always requested. I have two folding bookcases--one sits on top of the other. My rule is that I can only have as much stuff as can fit on these bookcases. (Not counting the things needed for daily living like clothes and dishes.) Most everything I own, folds--the futon, the table. I'm ready to travel!

There was a 4-year period in my life when I moved every six months. I came to really enjoy it and kept my belongings to a minimum. Enjoy your new found freedom and revel in every new experience! I love the image you included in today's blog. Letting go of whatever it is that no longer serves frees you to move on.

That's great! It sounds like you have a great system in place. While moving can be a lot of stress and hard work, I also find it invigorating. It's a great opportunity to not only purge, renew, replace, and revamp, but also to re-experience times gone by as we sort through belongings and memories. And that in turn offers a great opportunity to take stock and reassess one's Life.

Good for you, making your dreams happen!
