Could sure tell we hadn't been at our "current" church for several weeks because we arrived to find out they had hired a new Worship & Administration Pastor and his first day was today. They had also made some changes around the building by adding signs throughout. It was nice that the family pictures were available today as well so no special trips needed to get those.
My daughter was ready to take on the bullies this morning and I want to thank my SP prayer warriors for praying with me about this situation. I was proud of her for being ready to take them on, but I was not thrilled with the plan so was thankful when NONE of the mean kids were there today. Naturally Maegann was angry because she'd spent so much energy and time being ready for nothing to happen. I allowed her much time to get past the anger and then discussed with her what God might be saying. She only sees "this wasn't the right time." I saw "this isn't what you need to do" as He has cleared the decks before when she's been totally worked up to face people if necessary. Tim and I decided we now know we need to protect her from herself for a time and are figuring out ways that we aren't at this church but maybe once more as a family until September 8 when these kids move into the teen group. I think they'll forget about her as they are in a totally new environment once they've made that switch and the "5th grade class" will be a thing of the past. We believe she needs to be ready to face situations/people at any time instead of forcing the situation. It's a life skill we all need!
Maegann went to youth group with her friend Grace this evening. Her family attends a Baptist church in town and Maegann knows several of the girls as they have gone to Kids Camp together for two years now. I talked to her about how it would be fine to go to their activities even if we don't attend that church.
Isaac told us he needed to do something fun tonight since Maegann got to so he and his dad are off to the store to look at Legos and bow and arrows. LOL That is giving me about 30 min. by myself.
Tomorrow... #4 IV treatment at 8:30 a.m. Nothing else on the schedule so I'm hoping we can get some house cleaning accomplished and I might find time to work on getting school things ready to go.
