It's so satisfying to watch the colas duke it out over market share. Every year about a gazillion cans of CocaCola flow around the world. With close to 7 billion people on the planet you'd better believe the master marketers are scheming for ways to satisfy all that thirst.
The ads say it all...Things Go Better With Coke. Really? For sure? Event the Devil gets his two cents in.
But at the bottom of their rainbow......there is no pot of gold, only rust on cars and dissolving tooth enamel. Doesn't matter which form you imbibe you will always have the carbonation to deal this. Nothing as pleasant as a flat soda.
According to their own reports the American public is chewing off the leash and making a run towards less soda. It's enough to make their Polar Bear blush.
Second quarter volume growth is well below expectations, showing declines in parts of the world. The blame is placed on currency change head winds. What does that mean? I thought head winds were something about jet airliners.
The other uncontrollable factor was wet, chilly weather. They don't grow Coke unless you count the "coca" beans. Maybe they can make the case for a poor harvest of corn for the high fructose corn syrup at floats their boat. A bad corn harvest translates into increased expenses.There are a great many aspects of this product that just about anything can be blamed. Hey, how about the price of gas in the delivery chain?
The final tally for this year is that the United States and some other countries are bucking the Cola trend. This year the soda consumption fell to a 26 year low.
In the spirit of public health, may I suggest that CocaCola return to the original ingredients that made that druggist in Georgia so famous.
Yes, it's the "coca" and as we call it, cocaine. No wonder it was so popular!!! Later the coca was removed from the ingredients but by then people were hooked and didn't really notice the swap out.
