I wouldn't mind some ice cream and shade today! It is still holding firm in the 90s tonight after reaching 105 this afternoon. Can't believe we're having another week-long stay of triple digits. I just need to live where it is about 70 all year round!
Thankful that when I woke up this morning I was feeling more stable, but after breakfast could tell I was still a little on edge so I took some Holy Basil and that helped a lot. I'm ready for TOM to arrive just so these hormones can calm down!
We were actually able to get back to our volcano study which finishes out the Hawaii unit we haven't touched for almost two months now. We read about them, drew the facts about them and now Maegann is building one. Isaac didn't have any interest in helping so I didn't push it as it was actually better as a one person job.
After lunch the kids headed out to play in the barnyard so I fired up the Wii Fit and gave it a go to see how the knee would do. It is good if I don't do any twisting. Has ached a lot more ever since those torso twists! I got through 30 minutes though and it felt good to be doing something.
Had barely gotten done when the kids came back in and the hubby had come home for the day and he was helping them get the inflatable pool set up. Too bad they never found the pool. LOL Guessing it was leaking at the end of last summer. So crazy me said, "Want to go to the pool?" What was I thinking?! It was 104 outside and I'd be sitting on the sidelines! Maegann had an idea of seeing if friends Grace and Brock could go too so I called their mom and they were actually free so we went by and picked them up. They all swam for 2 hours. I was impressed with Isaac as he knew he would have to pass a swim test to get near the deep end and that diving board. He went over and talked to the lifeguard, got his instructions and off he went to swim one full lap without stopping. I was watching him and when he is focused and determined his swimming is just beautiful. Not choppy or stiff at all...just beautiful. He passed easily and off he went to the board. Thankfully Brock passed right after him. Anyway...proud of him for actually handling it with the lifeguard on his own and also for getting it done.
Once home I got the pizza made for supper. Kids got their usual pepperoni and cheese, but for the hubby and I...no cheese. I did add anything I could find that sounded good and here's what I came up with:
Wasn't too bad actually, but next time I will make sure I have sausage instead of plain ground beef. My muscles will thank me for not having dairy!
Tomorrow: gym, Bountiful Basket, groceries and co-op supply shopping, lawn mowing and if I still have energy I'll tackle the bathrooms.
Wii Fit: As mentioned above I did 30 min. Wii Fit today. I was happy that my knee was fairly solid with the yoga and strength. As the identified "not so good" was with twisting I am feeling more confident that I can do a bit more exercise if I'm careful about that movement. Nice that I can tell the doc next week what bothers as that has been a bit elusive of late.
Gym Time: I logged into Anytime Fitness last night and it confirmed that my last gym date was June 25. That's way too long and I feel like I have to start all over again building the habit of going at least 3x/week. Tomorrow I plan to go first thing and try the elliptical for at least 10-15 minutes but will pay attention to the knee. I can do the resistance machines easily if I don't mess with the legs.
