Reflecting on the past few weeks...

I only have one word to say . . . vacation! I've had a wonderful time and have been blessed to be able to go on two vacations in the past month. Two weeks in the mountains of Tennessee and NC, and a week visiting my sister in Florida. They were both awesome, and I tried my best to not get completely off track. While I did do better than I probably ever have previously, vacation is still vacation, and going out to dinner and being off of a regular schedule will catch up with you, even if you do get some workouts in. I faithfully did my runs with my sister, and I did some other workouts too. Unfortunately, my weight was back up again this morning. I'm still lower than when I started BLC, but not as low as I'd like to be at this point in the challenge. It is half way over, and my vacations are done. I'm going to start tracking again, and get myself back on a schedule. Planning meals has helped me be successful in the past, so I need to take some time to do that again. Thanks to all of my friends and my Tiger teammates for not giving up on me. I'll be back with a vengeance in no time!

    Vacations can be rough on the weight. Congrats on continuing your workouts. With eating out there is usually more salt in the foods which could cause water weight gain. Give it a couple days to a week and I'm sure you'll be closer to where you want to be.

    Just had to say... I read your blog, and I'm right there with you!

    Went strong and hardcore the first 5 weeks of the BLC, hit an all-time weight low, then really took my foot off the gas this past week.

    I mean REALLY.

    Had two out of towners in to visit, a cookout at my grandfather's, and I really veered off course... my weight went up 4.5 lbs... you almost have to TRY to gain that kind of weight so quickly.

    And now a week's vacation to the beach coming up. All I know is this. When I plan, when I'm walking my steps and I'm on the path, I feel my best.. physically, psychically, socially, mentally, emotionally. When I wander off into the woods as it were, though it is some kind of momentary "break" I suppose, when I stay off course for too long (days in a row), I feel crappy on all of those levels.

    Here's to continued sparking!! Let's get back at it!!
