Resuming Healthy Living - Again

Wednesday, July 17, 2013

So. Disappointment has been a big theme in my pursuit of healthy living this last 9 months or so. Gotten over the hurdle of being active regularly. Gotten over the hurdle of recording food. Moving forward with great weight loss. Feeling SOOO good. Then: hip pain. Not a quick recovery possible either. Like a child sitting in the corner pouting, I adopted the "why me" attitude for literally months.

But today I am back being active, tracking my food, and moving forward. The road just doesn't look like what I thought it would. Hey. That's normal on any journey, right?

Thankful to have seen weight loss again and be moving on towards health!

Jeff

Good for you for staying positive and keeping the forward movement going! I felt the same way after getting injured in a car -vs- bicyclist accident. (I was the bicyclist!) Movement is a challenge sometimes. I have 3 damaged lower back discs. But I did find, the more I moved (even if I have to force it under the influence of lots of tylenol and aleve!) the more I could move. I'll never be as active as I was, but I can at least walk. Big lesson learned? Never give up. Never stop moving forward!

Hopefully you'll be on the road you envisioned. But hey, you gotta love those challenging detours life throws at us right? Gives us a chance to rise up and be triumphant! emoticon emoticon
