A Brownout Episode

We surely take our hydro for granted...Getting up today I was fortunate to have my coffee already perked & hot...but my lentil soup wasn't so lucky. It was warming in the microwave for less than 1 minute when our power went out. I guess our heat wave has wrecked havoc on our area due to air conditioning over-use. I sit here thinking about how long this could last & how many things will be affected this afternoon because of it.
I'm drinking coffee #2. (while it's hot) My WI this am. was 127.0 lbs. (down 1.4 lbs)
This past week was expensive...2 cars...2 brake jobs...totalling $800.00. They had to be done but timing? It's also tax time...so can we say an extra charge of a deal on shorts wasn't really going to make much of a dent. In the past, being overweight my comfort level had me wearing jeans & only owning 1 bathing suit...due to a body image concern. Now I enjoy the freedom of feeling comfortable in my own skin & have a great assortment of both shorts & swimsuits. It's great to wear less in this heat & not concerning myself with the opinion of others regarding how I look.
I have tried out some new recipes this past weekend. Both are meatless & came from my Forks Over Knives book (thanks Jodi, still reading) They are lentil loaf & creamy noodle casserole. My nutriblast has become a regular weekend addition to my diet & I am seeing the difference in my digestion as well as the fluid intake is benefitting my sleep. It is so simple only using fruits & vegetable mixtures, tastes great & getting great results. I will wait until after my blood tests from the annual physical before I adjust my weekday diet adding even more nutrients this way. apparently it's a question of blood thinners & the mixes???
After a 1 hour outage, I hear the beep, beep of power restored.
Hurry, I must zap my soup before the chance of a power outage reoccurs.
I have scheduled my next eye examination & yearly physical within the next 2 weeks. We have been to the travel clinic to get info on immunizations needed for our January trip overseas.
I'm happy to say each time I get my blood pressure measured it's reinforcement that putting my health 1st is benefitting me. 2 weeks ago it was 115/65.
See you next week,
