Bad Habit I'd like to change - TCoHP

Stage 1a
I think my current worst habit is that of telling myself that I don't have time or that Selene wake up too soon. My daughter takes two to three hour naps twice a day, but on random occasions, she'll wake up sooner. Obviously two hours is more than enough time to do almost anything, but I just can't get past my mind. I need to figure out how to work through my habit. The time I would have while she’s sleeping would be perfect for working out, for cleaning, for spending time with SparkPeople. I suppose I just need to tell myself that I DO have time. That an hour IS enough time to do what I need to do. We’ll see how it goes.

    Hannah, what if you (just for the sake of saying you did it) made up a TIME SCHEDULE. I know they're yucky but... just 'do' it so you can *see* WHERE your *have*too*do*it*stuff* is.

    You know there's a wake-up time and meal times, so block them out. Then, you know Selene's *fussy*time* and you're gonna wanna make that a time she can learn to calm, i.e. when you're trying to fix supper, etc. Plus... a really REALLY important one to hunt/look for is... your *B*E*S*T* time. We all have a part of the day that we're more *happy* and energy seems available and THAT's what you can use for *you* time that will be more productive to contributing to your health - whatever it is that you *love* to 'do' you can insert there. It may be right at Selene's *happy*time* too which would be sooo WONDERFUL!! Anyway... just wanted to give my 2 cents. LOL!! I'll check yer' other blogs after my work out!!

    I remember that feeling as well. My son didn't sleep well (still doesn't, at 7 yrs old!) and I was always afraid to make any noise. He wasn't one you could run the vacuum with while he napped! emoticon

    I look forward to seeing how you believe you can change this habit to make use of your time better.

    I don't have a child, but I sometimes suffer with the same problem of convincing myself I don't have time to do this or that. The best way I have of beating that mindset is to think of a TV show that is the same length as the thing I want to do - an episode of The Big Bang Theory seems super short, but I can't spare the time to do a half-hour workout? Seems silly when I think of it like that!

    But that's what works for me, obviously. Hope you can figure out the best way for you!
