3 steps forward, one step back

I have only been at this for a little over a week now and for some reason these last two days have been really hard. I completely blew my calories tonight and maxed out on everything but protein. I think part of my problem is getting under my calories. I don't know why but I have been feeling full even if I don't eat a lot. My body is confusing and when I look at my reports I am all over the place. I feel overwhelmed with trying to change my entire diet, but my diet has been so terrible I feel I have to. This is more than just wanting to look good, if I don't lose weight I am going to have problems with hernias continuously. I want to conquer this but I feel incapable. emoticon

    One of the things I am learning in my struggle is be consistant with your baby steps. Focus on a few steps at a time and as they become habit add some more. Hang in there you can do it!

    Thank you for your encouragement. I know you are right! I think the pressure is on to get the weight off and I want to prove to my doctor that I can do it, but I can't do it overnight. I have read through some other blogs and it is encouraging to read that others struggle too. Sometimes I focus too much on what needs to be done and not enough on what I have done and am doing. I have exercised more in the last week and eaten more vegetables than I have in awhile. I have also been drinking my water. Whew. I can take a deep breath; tomorrow is a new day and nobody is breathing down my neck telling me to be perfect.

    I agree with KAT321123 - it's normal to feel that hurdle early on after starting with a bang.

    You absolutely can do it. Look how many people have done it - it's absolutely possible! Baby steps are better than nothing... don't be too hard on yourself especially in the beginning. Every positive change and step are getting you closer to where you want to be. Although many people have done it, none of them have done it overnight. Hang in there!

    You're not incapable. The first step for you may be just to tell yourself that you CAN do it and WILL do it. I promise, you can.

    It's really normal to get into a new pattern full-force the first few days (when things are exciting and new) and then start to struggle after the newness wears off. Your body is also having to readjust to changes and detox some of the junk out.

    Just try to hang in there and your body and mind WILL adjust.
