There will be times when we choose not to obey God for whatever reason. There will be times when we do what is not right for the wrong reasons. We all mess up. We all make bad decisions that hurt us or others. However, when we don’t obey God we need to know He still loves us. We need to know God is still with us. We need to know God will forgive us. When we realize we were disobedient to God for whatever reason, we need to go to Him for forgiveness, turn from our sin and move on.

Romans 6:16 “Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us today to recognize when we do wrong and when we are not obeying You. Help us to recognize it quickly and ask for forgiveness so we can move on. Help us not to dwell on it, worry about it or repeat it but to simply move on. Whatever results come from our disobedience, show us how to fix the situation. Show us what we can learn from it and use what we learned as a testimony to share with others so they can learn as well. In Jesus name. Amen.

We really shouldn’t judge others because we all mess up at some time in our lives.

When we make mistakes or choose to do wrong, we can recognize it and quickly turn back to God.

The longer we put off getting things right with God, the more time we waste on doing His will.

We can’t make the difference God wants us to make in life when we choose to disobey Him.

Our God is a loving and kind God. He is willing to forgive and forget when we mess up. But we have to go to Him and ask to be forgiven.

Luke 24:47b “There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.” (NLT)
